A New Visa Policy to Boost Investments in Mozambique

The Mozambican Government has taken a step further into improving the country’s tourism industry by introducing a package of new entry visa policies for travellers intending to visit the country and find shelter in Mozambique resorts. Deputy Justice Minister Filimao Suaze, the government spokesperson stated that President Filipe Nyusi launched these steps as a part of 20 economic acceleration measures. Therefore, hotels like Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort can expect an upward growth in tourist arrivals in the very near future.

The structural changes in visas weigh towards promoting Mozambique as an investment hub to attract businessmen. The short-term tourism visa has now been converted to a tourism and business visa with 90-days’ validity, a 60-day increase from the previous constraint of 30 days, while the visa application process will be shortened to a maximum of 5 days via online methods.
