A Programme to Boost Indian Tourist Arrivals in the Maldives

The Maldives extended a warm welcome to Indian travel partners in the month of July. As reported on the TTG Asia on the 19th of July 2022, leading Indian travel company agents paid visits to Maldives luxury hotels with the aim of boosting arrivals of Indian tourists to hotels like Adaaran Club Rannalhi to benefit the tourism industry of the country. The agents arrived upon the invitation extended by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporations (MMPRC) and were a part of a programme that promoted the Maldives as a destination which faced a rapid recovery following the pandemic.

As the leading source market for tourism since 2020, a record of 119,967 Indian tourists have travelled to these tropical islands in 2022 alone, for recreation and other purposes. Therefore, the programme played a pivotal role in encouraging more tourist arrivals from the country by emphasising the unique offerings made by the Maldives to its guests.
