A Year with VIMAN: Sri Lanka’s First Interactive Calendar Unfolds Suburban Living in Style

Twelve months. One journey. A million moments of connection

John Keells Properties marked a new chapter in Sri Lanka’s real estate landscape with the launch of the country’s first-ever interactive desk calendar, introduced under its latest suburban development, VIMAN. This unique calendar, filled with gifts valued at over LKR 1 million, offered recipients a creative way to experience the vibrant lifestyle envisioned at VIMAN throughout the year.

Each month featured a distinct theme — from the nostalgia of street cricket to eco-conscious living and building community ties — all echoing the core values behind the VIMAN project. This approach allowed potential homeowners to engage with the VIMAN lifestyle through an immersive and rewarding experience.

Nayana Mawilmada, President of the Property Sector at John Keells Group, shared that this initiative reflected the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and meaningful engagement. He emphasised that VIMAN wasn’t just about property development but about crafting a modern, community-driven way of life.

Targeted at families seeking a balance between nature and urban convenience, the six-acre VIMAN Ja Ela — offering well-appointed and modern Ja Ela apartments — devoted more than 65% of its space to open areas. The calendar further brought this vision to life, featuring monthly rewards such as resort getaways, homeware, and green energy discounts.

Nadeem Shums, Head of Sales and Marketing at John Keells Properties, explained that the calendar served as both a creative storytelling tool and a celebration of VIMAN’s ideals — encouraging interaction, sustainability, and a deep sense of belonging.

This initiative also underscored the brand’s strong partnerships and its dedication to delivering more than just homes. As VIMAN advanced into its next phase, the calendar stood as a bold statement of what suburban living in Sri Lanka could become: connected, conscious, and community-led.
