Abu Dhabi Announces the Completion of Yameela Ferry Renovation – The Eight Year Old Vessel Receives a Comprehensive Overhaul

The Yameela Ferry was introduced to Abu Dhabi waters in 2010, and has since conducted 13,500 trips and carried over 700,000 passengers. As an initiative by the government to develop the public transport of Abu Dhabi, the ferry received an upgrade of 400 seats, with 200 to the air-conditioned compartment, and 200 in the open area. Further developments also included the two engines being rebuilt, and the monitoring system being upgraded.

The development of Abu Dhabi’s public-transport infrastructure in the marine sector will definitely make it easier for people to travel to the Emirate’s most famous nature reserve, Sir Bani Yas Island, especially for travellers staying at a family hotel in Abu Dhabi. It will definitely be beneficial for entities such as Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara.
