The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre was host to the week-long Abu Dhabi International Book Fair which concluded on the 1st of May 2018. The fair was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
Poland, the guest of honour nation, presented their history in literature spanning over 1, 000 years along with panel discussions on the work of Polish authors. Arabic translations of Polish texts too were displayed along with translators to examine the writing of eminent writers such as Janusz Korczak.
1,350 exhibitors from over 63 countries took part in the convention, with over 5,000 titles spanning over 35 languages being displayed. The fair drew thousands of visitors including tourists staying in many a resort in Abu Dhabi including the likes of Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort, with its interactive workshops, seminars and dance productions.
