Abu Dhabi Enforces Environmental Laws – Renewable Energy Initiatives Also Adopted

As reported on the Khaleej Times website in February this year, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) is helping to ensure companies in the emirate follow environmental laws. To check compliance with existing regulations, the team makes surprise visits to commercial and industrial facilities; as part of its responsibility, the EAD also writes inspection reports, investigates any potential problems and checks if all the required permits have been obtained.

To help Abu Dhabi reduce its carbon footprint as well as focus on renewable energy initiatives, the emirate is also investing in solar power generation; this was highlighted on The National news website on 10th March 2023 which went on to reveal that a two-gigawatt solar plant is being developed in the Al Dhafra region. When completed, it’s expected to have 5.6 gigawatts of solar PV capacity. It should be noted that hotels and resorts can also be found that follow sustainable and eco-friendly practices in Abu Dhabi. Villa options can be found at such properties including Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort which has been certified “Gold” as part of the Green Growth 2050 Global Standard.
