The Abu Dhabi Flavours festival was one of the most unique events to take place in the country, and lasted ten days from the end of March towards the beginning of April. The scale of the festival meant that many a luxury hotel Abu Dhabi has to offer such as the Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara had plenty of guests. The ‘Flavours League’ competition featured the best competitive eaters in the country going head to head for a Dh.5000 prize. Even home-cooks were recognised in the festival and had the opportunity win an iPad by taking part in the ‘Tabkhati’ contest, where contestants send in pictures of their culinary masterpieces on social media for a voting contest. A wide variety of local brands took part in the festival such as X-Burger, Parata Guys and Shawarma Code.
