Abu Dhabi Receives a Significant Boost to Its Tourism Strategy
Abu Dhabi’s plans to enhance its tourism sector have received a major boost in the form of a $10 billion investment in the emirate’s infrastructure. This contribution is expected to support the already ambitious 2030 tourism strategy to increase visitor numbers to 39.3 million and raise the sector’s GDP contribution to $ 24.5 billion.
However, these developments are set to benefit the local people who live and work in Abu Dhabi, more so than the tourists who come and go. The new investment plan is set to involve an overall improvement of the country’s roads, public transport and infrastructure which will also improve the living conditions of the residents. These strategies will also create more employment opportunities with approximately 18,000 new jobs.
There are already several Abu Dhabi beach resort options for travellers to choose from, like the Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat. However, the 2030 strategy aims to boost accommodation facilities by increasing the number of hotel rooms to 52,000 and will do so to cater to various budget options.
