Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Tourism Strategy Unveiled – Enhanced Visitor Experiences Await
Abu Dhabi, the cosmopolitan capital of the United Arab Emirates, has unveiled its ambitious Tourism Strategy 2030. Approved by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, it outlines a vision to transform the emirate into a global tourism leader. Announced in April this year, this comprehensive strategy aims to attract nearly 39.3 million visitors by 2030, a significant increase from nearly 24 million recorded in 2023. This growth is projected to boost the tourism sector’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s GDP to a staggering AED 90 billion annually by 2030, up from AED 49 billion in 2023.
The strategy will focus on four key pillars: Promotion & Marketing, Infrastructure & Mobility, Offering and City Activation, and Visa, Licensing, and Regulations. This translates into exciting developments like enhanced cultural experiences, world-class theme parks, diverse retail options, and a thriving culinary scene. It should also be noted that this destination’s charm lies in its ability to cater to diverse interests. For example, travellers can stay at a city hotel to enjoy modern marvels or be based at a resort in Abu Dhabi on Sir Bani Yas Island for animal encounters at the Arabian Wildlife Park; this includes such properties as Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort which provides both thrilling escapades for families and romantic getaways for couples.
