Adapting to new normal, Sri Lanka Tourism goes virtual to promote ‘Wildlife’ – Taking Sri Lanka to the World

The Sri Lanka Tourism Board took the initiative of taking Sri Lanka to the world as the world cannot come to Sri Lanka this year. Using the right technology, the virtual Wildlife safaris cleverly dubbed “Couch Safari” was launched from the 4th to the 13th of November, showcasing Yala, Udawalawe, Minneriya and Kaudullla National Parks.

There was a resounding response from the rest of the world as many tuned in to the live streams over 10 days from all over the world. Despite being unable to visit resorts the likes of Cinnamon Bey Beruwala, and stay at Bentota hotels or explore the wilds, potential guests to Sri Lanka were given a taste of what they could look forward to when global lockdowns are eased in 2021.
