Adelaide Film Festival – South Australia’s Premier Film Festival Returns

An event that will showcase more than 180 cinematic and documentary creations from around the world, the Adelaide Film Festival begins on 15th October and will run up to 25th October. Many of the screenings and special events will take place at venues across the city including Her Majesty’s Theatre, Mercury cinema, Palace Nova cinema and Port Adelaide. Movie buffs wishing to catch some of the films on show can look to stay at serviced apartments Adelaide CBD has to offer such as iStay Precinct which is within easy reach of these venues. Apart from works by Australian directors such as Jocelyn Moorhouse, Sue Brooks and Scott Hicks, the Adelaide Film Festival will also feature international films including the much lauded ‘Carol’, directed by Todd Haynes and starring Australia’s very own Cate Blanchett. Among the prizes being given as part of this biennial film festival are the Best International Feature Film Award, the Flinders University Best Documentary Award and the Don Dunstan Award for exceptional contribution to the film industry in Australia.
