Tourism Malaysia, in partnership with Air Arabia, organized two Familiarization (FAM) Trips to promote Malaysia as a preferred travel destination in the Middle Eastern market. The first trip included a group of eight participants from Iran who travelled from Tehran via Sharjah to Kuala Lumpur. They explored various popular tourist spots in Kuala Lumpur such as, such as KLCC, KL Tower and Merdeka Square.
Dato Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar, the director-general of Tourism Malaysia, expressed the organization’s commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s tourism promotion in the Middle Eastern market, particularly after they participate in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023. The aim is for travel agents taking part in these FAM Trips to actively promote Malaysia by offering tour packages in their respective markets. Whether it’s a hotel in Georgetown Penang the likes of Citadines Connect Georgetown Penang or its diverse attractions, the goal is to transform it into an enticing tourist destination.
