Air Mauritius Launches Weekly Flights from Chennai to Mauritius Starting April 2024

Air Mauritius, the national airline of Mauritius, will begin operating weekly flights from Chennai to Mauritius starting April 13, 2024. This new route will be serviced every Saturday using an Airbus A330 aircraft with 254 seats, offering passengers a seamless journey of approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes from Chennai International Airport to SSR International Airport in Mauritius. Laurent Recoura, Officer in Charge of Air Mauritius, expressed pleasure in resuming operations from Chennai after a four-year hiatus, emphasizing the strong cultural and historical ties between Mauritius and India.

Mr Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, highlighted the importance of this reinstated route in enhancing travel convenience for visitors from Southern India to Mauritius East Coast hotelssuch as the famous The Residence Mauritius. He acknowledged Air Mauritius for initiating this effort, which aims to meet the increasing demand for efficient travel experiences and strengthen the connection between the two nations. This new flight service promises to offer travellers the opportunity to explore the scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage of Mauritius, further solidifying the bond between the two countries. Air Mauritius also currently operates multiple weekly flights from Mumbai and Delhi.
