Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines Extend Alliance for Five Years: Fostering Strong Relationships

Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have announced a significant five-year extension of their joint venture partnership, reinforcing their dedication to enhancing connectivity and travel choices for passengers. Approved by New Zealand’s Associate Minister of Transport, Matt Doocey, the agreement is set to run until March 2029. This prolonged collaboration builds upon a decade of fruitful teamwork, which has seen a nearly 50% rise in seat capacity between New Zealand and Singapore.

Noteworthy expansions include the introduction of up to three daily services between Auckland and Singapore, along with a daily service connecting Christchurch and Singapore. Mike Williams, Chief Transformation and Alliances Officer at Air New Zealand emphasized the partnership’s impact, noting that over 4.6 million passengers have been jointly transported since its inception in 2015. With plans for a fourth daily seasonal service between Auckland and Singapore, subject to regulatory approval, the airlines aim to further enhance travel options for customers, catering to the peak holiday season from October 27, 2024, to March 29, 2025. Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President (Marketing and Planning) at Singapore Airlines, echoed this sentiment, underscoring their commitment to meeting the escalating demand for both business and leisure travel. Visitors from New Zealand can set up camp at some of the top 5 star hotels in Singapore, including properties such as Grand Park City Hall, to further cement excellent relations between the countries
