Recently, AirAsia announced the launch of a new route connecting Kuala Lumpur and Chiang Rai in Thailand. This new hub is seen as a further strengthening of the connectivity between Thailand and Malaysia. In addition to the current routes to and from Chiang Rai, this new route will be serviced by an Airbus A320ceo that will be based at the Mae Fah Luang – Chiang Rai International Airport.
It is expected that this move will lead to more tourists being attracted to visit the northernmost province of Thailand. Apart from staying at a resort or hotel Chiang Rai has to offer, travellers have many distinctive experiences to look forward to; these include getting up close to elephants at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort and visiting local temples like Wat Klang Wieng and Wat Phra Kaew.
