It has been reported that Air Asia will resume operations between Hong Kong and Penang, starting on August 10th. Known as the largest, most economical carrier in South East Asia, flights will run thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight departs at 0630h from Penang and land in Hong Kong at 1030h, with a return flight from 1110h and landing in Penang at 1455h.
The airline company will be operating 217 flights over 10 routes to Penang during the summer, including hubs such as Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Singapore, and Joh Bahru. As YB Yeoh Soon Hin, the Penang EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy, states, they are determined to make Penang a world-class tourist hotspot with the addition of the three weekly flights. A rising star already, with several attractions all over the island, visitors will be intrigued by the oceanic view along Penang hubs such as Gurney Drive, often regarded as some of the best streets to visit in the world. A stay at a Gurney Drive accommodation in properties such as Ascott Gurney Penang gives you an excellent waterfront view to wake up to.
