Airports Of Thailand to Take Over Three More Airports – Plans to Boost Tourism

Earlier in the year, the Airports Of Thailand (Aot) which is under the Thai Transport Ministry, announced its plans of taking over the management and operation of three airports. These airports were under the purview of the Department of Airports (DoA), but a change of management has been decided to drive tourism during the post-pandemic era.  This measure has come at a time to bolster and increase the influx of foreign tourists and also lend a hand to the local tourism sector.

Saksayam Chidchob, the Minister of transport states that he hoped this measure would expand the capacity of Udon Thani, Krabi, and Buri Ram airports to transform them into regional hubs. This is great news for luxury hotels in Phuket such as the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort and the other resorts and hotels in neighbouring islands since there will be more airports for excited and eager tourists to fly into, making a holiday in Thailand more accessible!
