Alibaba Partners with Thailand on Digital Trade, Smart Tourism – A Step Towards a Smarter Future!

The Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba recently signed a wide-ranging agreement with Thailand to work towards building a smart digital trading hub within the state, while also improving upon its capabilities in digital logistics, e-commerce, and tourism among others.

Fliggy, an Alibaba owned online travel platform is to play a major role in the arrangement to facilitate access to China’s consumer markets, given the fact that Thailand is a top destination for Chinese tourists with many a Koh Samui resort including the likes of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, being a popular choice.

The goal of the Thai Tourism Authority and Fliggy is to develop smart digital services to cater to those travellers in aspects such as electronic tickets and online tour guides. Jack Ma, Executive Chairman of Alibaba expressed confidence in Thailand’s growth potential and stated that they were committed to a long-term partnership with them.
