Anantara Ramps up Operations in Sri Lanka – Launching Out in The Island Nation

Through its Anantara hotel brand, Thai-based hospitality company Minor Hotel Group (MHG) is making some serious investment in Sri Lanka. An estimated 200 million US dollars has been invested in order to kick-start the Anantara brand in Sri Lanka which saw the opening of Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort in December, 2015. Additionally the group will also see the launching of one of the newest Kalutara hotels in the south coast this July, Anantara Kalutara Resort. The opening of the Tangalle resort has been met with positive comments and was named amongst the ‘Hot New Openings’ for 2016 by Forbes magazine. Commenting on these developments in an interview with the Daily News, Sri Lankan-born Dillip Rajakarier the current chief executive officer of Minor Hotel Group commented that, “It is extremely rewarding to bring the Anantara brand to Sri Lanka and I am confident that we will launch more hotels in the island nation over the coming years.”
