Anantara Signs UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge – Sustainable Tourism to the Fore

To celebrate World Environment Day 2022 which fell on 5th June this year, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, announced that it was signing the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge; by doing so, over 45 hotels and resorts of this hospitality brand at key global destinations join more than 4,200 other properties worldwide committed to sustainable tourism, heritage conservation and community resilience. Part of Minor Hotels, Anantara has always been dedicated to supporting environmental and social projects as well as wildlife conservation with numerous initiatives over the years.

Additionally, 36 properties of this brand including its 5-star hotels in Abu Dhabi have been awarded Green Growth 2050 certification for aspects such as sustainability, tourism ethics, environmental stewardship, community development and employee protection; these include the likes of Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel that have been certified “GOLD” and continue to strive for a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
