Art Exhibition -Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab at Iconic Queen Victoria Market this October

The foundation stones were laid for this year’s Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab, which is the first initiative of its kind in the Victorian capital, when a collection of artists collaborated for a two week period in June to conceptualize the art work for the project. The fruits of their labour and the results of the work developed within laboratory setting will be showcased at 2016’s Melbourne Festival.

Some of the highlight showcases among the pieces created by the Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab include Out In The Open by Van Sowerwine and Isobel Knowles, Hiromi Tango’s Wrapped and Field Theory’s 9000 minutes which can be viewed by tourists based in Oaks on Collins or any other resort or service apartment in Melbourne. With events scheduled across October the space selected to inspire the artwork for this year’s first ever Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab was the Queen Victoria Market, a public venue that has been interpreted through the eyes of artists in this year’s program curated by Natalie King.
