Thailand is considered a Buddhist country, and there are a lot of public holidays on the Thai calendar commemorating special events in the life of Lord Buddha. Asahna Bucha Day is also such a significant day for the Buddhists as the first sermon of Lord Buddha was delivered on a day like that. Asahna Bucha Day falls on the 24th of July this year, but the public holiday falls on the 26th of July.
If you have already made plans to spend your July holidays at a 5-star Bangkok hotel the likes of Emporium Suites by Chatrium, you may also get the chance to enjoy the celebrations with your friends and family. Buddhists will visit the temples with candles and lotus flowers. And the buildings and the temples will be all decorated with flags having deer or wheels (Dhamma wheels) on them.
