While the stunning natural spectacle known as the aurora borealis can be seen in Northern Hemisphere countries like Greenland, Sweden, and Norway, for a brief period, people got to enjoy it in Penang, Malaysia too! This was thanks to developer S P Setia, who re-created the magical phenomena also known as the “Northern Lights”, utilizing everything from theatrical smoke to multi-colored laser lighting to display a captivating sight overhead.
Named “The Aurora”, this dazzling event took place each night from 30th April to 4th May 2022 at the rooftop garden of the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang; beach resorts in this popular tourist destination such as PARKROYAL Penang Resort are ideally located within easy reach of this venue. Apart from providing many Insta-worthy moments, this event which was open free to the public also featured a playground with swings as well as dressed-up fairies and ballerinas all illuminated by LED lights. Apart from Penang, “The Aurora” also took place on other dates in May and June at Kajang, Setia Eco Park, Rawang, and Klang.
