Australia Day Celebrations The Entrance
On the 26th of January, the whole of Australia came together to celebrate a most significant day in the nation’s history, Australia Day. It’s on this day, that back in 1788 the First Fleet of British Ships arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at that site by Governor Arthur Phillip took place.
The Entrance, the popular holiday resort in the Central Coast of NSW, celebrated the holiday with much fervor and festivities with most of the celebrations taking place at the Memorial Park. If you’re looking for The Entrance hotels located near the venue, consider the Oaks Waterfront Resort as it is just a minute away from Memorial Park.
With live performances, competitions and cultural demonstrations the national holiday at The Entrance was a fun-filled and action-packed day. There were displays of sheep-shearing and cute baby animals. Wood Chopping Championships and ice-cream eating competitions! And even the original 1820 Carronade Canon was fired. At night, the Sea FM Fireworks Spectacular lit up the sky at The Entrance Waterfront.
