Australia Open for Tourism – Adelaide Amongst Key Cities Attracting Travellers

After having closed its borders in 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Australia finally welcomed back international travellers beginning on 1st February 2022. This reopening of borders was for fully vaccinated tourists who were required to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (formerly Australia Travel Declaration); they also had to show proof of full vaccination and a negative result of a COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours before departing to Australia. Each of the country’s states had additional guidelines (https://www.australia.gov.au/states) including requiring a COVID-19 PCR test to be taken by travellers within 24 hours of their arrival.

With the reopening of borders, popular tourist destinations can now be visited once more including South Australia’s capital, Adelaide; hotels in the city provide an ideal base to access key attractions and enjoy the many events planned in the months to come. This includes Frozen the Musical (26th May – 10th July 2022) at the Festival Theatre close to accommodation providers like Avani Adelaide Residences; also scheduled this year is the Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2022 (10th – 25th June 2022) and Illuminate Adelaide 2022 (July 2022) that are expected to draw domestic and foreign tourists alike.
