Australian Open Begins in Melbourne – The Tennis Greats Are Back

The first tennis grand slam of the season, the Australian Open kicked off this month with many of the world’s top male and female players competing. Due to the need for quarantine measures for players who were arriving from around the world and other considerations, the tournament had special protocols in place; this led to the Australian Open to be scheduled from 8th to 21st February 2021, the first time in over a century the tournament has not begun in January.

As usual, the tennis matches are taking place at Melbourne Park close to properties offering diverse hotel deals in Australia including those belonging to brands such as Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites. Spectators are being allowed with capacity restrictions at each of the venues; additionally, when purchasing tickets, spectators have to choose and limit their movements to one of three zones, namely the Margaret Court Arena Zone, Rod Laver Arena Zone and the John Cain Arena Zone.
