On 11th May 2021, the Australian government delivered its Federal Budget which included a focus on uplifting both the tourism and airline sectors. Such measures will come as a welcome boost to such sectors that have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; with this in mind, funding of more than $1.2 billion has been allocated in the budget for tourism operators, airlines, travel agents and small businesses too.
Amongst the initiatives were more than 800,000 half-price fares to tourism regions throughout the country which was on offer till 31st July 2021; this not only supported the aviation sector but also encouraged domestic tourism that has been vital in the absence of international arrivals. Many Australians are taking the chance to enjoy holidays within the country including in the New South Wales capital, Sydney. Accommodation deals from city properties such as Oaks Sydney North Ryde Suites continue to offer great savings, while guests can look forward to safe stays as well.
