Bahrain seeks rapid hotel infrastructure development – enhancing the growth of the industry

The Bahrain Economic Development Board brought to light that the country has spent over USD 3 billion in 2017 on tourism. This amount is spread over 14 main projects that are being carried out to further increase the growth in the country’s tourism industry. The country has seen a quick growth of 12.8% in the number of tourists in the first 9 months of 2017.
There are plenty of luxury hotels in Bahrain that visitors could opt for like, Reef Resort Bahrain. However, the country continues to improve tourism infrastructure. Simon Galpin, the managing director of Bahrain Economic Development Board stated that the country has welcomed 8.7 million tourists during the first 9 months of 2017 and that it is a big number compared to the country’s population of 1.5 million. He also stated that the tourism industry adds up to 6.3% of the GDP and that this will increase in time.
