Bali Welcomes Chinese Tourists After Three Years – Island Hopeful of Tourism Boost

In January this year, Bali saw the arrival of the first direct flight from China for the first time in three years due to the pandemic. This chartered flight arrived from the Chinese city of Shenzhen and since then, other connections have been established. For example, in March 2023, Xiamen Air launched a direct flight to the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali from China’s Xiamen Gaoqi Airport. Operating daily, this connection has provided easy access to the island for Chinese holidaymakers.

This bodes well as this popular destination looks to get its tourism industry back on track with China being a key source market before the pandemic put a stop to global travel. Such tourists and those from other nations are once more enjoying the many allures of Bali. Cliff hotel properties on the west coast of the Bukit Peninsula such as Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort continue to offer safe accommodation along with beachside relaxation, surfing adventures, cultural discoveries and more.
