Bangkok celebrates 241st anniversary – Events to honour the occasion 

The city of Bangkok was established back in 1789 on the 21st of April, the city, now transformed into a modern metropolis celebrated its 241st anniversary this year. Celebrations took place from the 21st to the 25th of April at some iconic landmarks on Rattanakosin Island like museums and temples. The events organised were focused on honouring the founders of Krung Rattanakosin or Krung Thep Mahanakhon, the kings of the Chakri Dynasty.

The main locations for the event included the National Theatre, the National Museum Bangkok, Santi Chai Prakan Park, Museum Siam, Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center and so on. Many guests from Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok and many a hotel in Sukhumvit Area had the privilege of witnessing these celebrations taking place throughout the city. An exhibition was also held at Santi Chai Prakan Park from the 21st of April to the 7th of May.
