As highlighted by the Bangkok Post news website on 2nd January 2023, Bangkok was trending when it came to online searches related to travel destinations. It referenced statements made by Anucha Burapachaisri, acting government spokesperson, who cited a report from the well-known travel agency, Hopper; it predicted that Asia would experience an international travel boom with Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo being amongst the top three trending destinations. These findings were based on flight information pertaining to 2023 searched by Americans in the first week of December last year.
The Thai capital continues to be a popular choice be it for business or leisure with more visitors arriving since the country reopened its borders.
