It is no secret that Sri Lanka is known for its golden sandy beaches, lush landscapes, and ancient ruins. The sun-kissed island recently added 24 new tourist destinations to its already impressive list of attractions which principally included the country’s stunning coastal areas. These tourist destinations were explored by the Department of Coastal conservation, determined based on their ability to promote tourism and the identified coastal areas included River Wadiya, Kudawa, Waikkala, Negombo Lagoon, Kapungoda, Preethipura, Kokgala Lagoon, Seethagalle, Rakava Lagoon, and Lunama Lagoon among several other areas.
As per the discussions led by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, developing these coastal areas will incite a plethora of tourists to travel to Sri Lanka whilst allowing travelers to surf through popular travel guides like Truly Sri Lanka, which will leave them with plenty of tips and guides on traversing this tropical island.
