Although the highest number of tourist arrivals from a single country to the Maldives was from China in 2019, experts say that this will drastically change in 2020 with the rapid progression of the Novel Coronavirus. However, the second-highest arrivals were from India and it is expected that Indians will visit the Maldives more frequently throughout the year, seeking leisure and adventure as well.
In 2019, 1.7 million tourists arrived in the Maldives and they have set up the target for two million to be achieved in 2020. It is assumed that establishments and luxury resorts such as ReethiFaru Resort in the Maldives may have come up with promotional activities and strategiesto reach this target. Since there are many interesting things to do in Maldives for all kinds of travellers, it should certainly be possible.
