BBC Proms 2015 – The Return of The Promenade Concerts

A celebration of classical music, the BBC Proms will once again offer music lovers a chance to enjoy a range of concerts in the UK capital. BBC Proms 2015 will take place from 17th July to 12th September with the main performances being based at the famous Royal Albert Hall. “Proms” which are a shorten form for promenade concert, is a popular event that spans two months, featuring tickets that are priced at only £5 and performances, both classic and contemporary, by renowned orchestras and musicians from around the world. Among this year’s highlights include a performance of the complete piano concertos of Beethoven by pianist Leif Ove Andsnes accompanied by the Mehler Chamber Orchestra, Elgar’s “The Dream of Gerontius” performed by the Vienna Philharmonic and BBC Proms Youth Choir and conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and for the first time, Sunday matinee performances as well.
