Beach Clean-Up at Marawila – Coastal Conservation in Action

An event that showcased coastal conservation in action, a beach clean-up was recently held along the shores of Marawila Beach in Pitipane. Organised by the Jo Kaminska Foundation, such activities and projects are among the initiatives that help in conserving and keeping coastal environs around Sri Lanka free from pollution. Held on 6th March, 2016 this beach clean-up was not the only one that took place along the island’s west coast. LB Finance sponsored a beach clean-up day in the coastal town of Negombo, held in partnership with the Negombo Municipal Council. This was the first community project of its kind that focused on cleaning up the town shores.
