American restaurant company Benihana recently held a “Rebuild Celebration” in preparation for the closure and subsequent rebuilding of the iconic North Bay Village Restaurant in Miami. The celebration which featured members of the Chef’s Table programme took place on 10th and 11th June 2019. This event was followed by a dinner titled “An Evening of Thanks”; hosted on 12th June, it was held both as an appreciation to the contribution of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami as well as a farewell to the restaurant.
The North Bay Village Restaurant has been a part of the Miami Beach community for more than 47 years, though its official closure on 17th June was not a permanent farewell. The restaurant is going to be fully rebuilt into a premier dining venue which is expected to open in the early part of 2020. Benihana is famed for its unique Teppanyaki restaurants which are not only found in America but in other parts of the world as well with Benihana Thailand being among the brand’s Asian presence.
