The Bradby Shield, one of the most anticipated events in the country’s sporting calendar is a two-leg fixture battled out by the island’s leading boy’s schools, Trinity College, Kandy and Royal College, Colombo. The showdown which first took place in 1945 has since been a permanent fixture taking place every year without interruption. This year’s Bradby will be its 74th edition.
Trinity College is currently in the lead with a win-loss tally of 39 to 32 with two editions ending as draws. The first half will be held at the Royal College Sports Complex on the 21st of April with the second half being played out on the 5th of May at the Pallekelle Stadium. Bradby fans who will be arriving from Colombo can find an abundance of accommodation in boutique hotels in Kandy, Sri Lanka including the likes of the Amaya Bungalow.
