BTS Featured in New South Korean Travel Guide – A Unique Journey of Discovery

In September this year, the Korea Economic Daily (KED) released a new tourist guide to South Korea, titled “The Purple Road” highlighting places linked to members of the globally popular K-pop group, BTS. Apart from sites that have been visited by the boy band, it also features approximately 130 attractions recommended by Army, the name given to the global BTS fan community. This unique guide is a great way for fans to follow in the footsteps of their idols and experience the places that have inspired them; however, it is also ideal for tourists and will take them on a journey to learn more about South Korea and its rich culture.

One of the highlighted locations is the South Korean capital, Seoul, where the seven-member-strong BTS started as trainees. Those planning to explore this lively city can look to be based in areas such as Myeongdong; hotel options in this captivating locale like Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall provide easy access to cultural, sightseeing, dining, entertainment, and retail hotspots. The guide will also cover other destinations including Jeju Island, Gwangju and Gyeonggi Province and provide pertinent information on day and overnight tours along with travel times. It will additionally focus on locations where popular music videos by the band were filmed, restaurants visited by BTS, places where band members enjoy their hobbies, art galleries visited by RM (the band’s leader) and more.
