Cambodia Celebrates the Anniversaries of Two Archaeological Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List – A Colourful Event in Cambodia!

Cambodia is home to three of the worlds’ most wonderful heritage sites.  On the 15th of July 2018, the country ceremoniously celebrated the first anniversary of Sambor Prei Kuk archaeological site and the 10th year anniversary of the historic site Preah Vihear Temple, being added to the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The grand event was presided by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his wife Bun Rany and took place at the National Olympic Stadium. Over 10,000 revellers participated in the event and it was broadcasted live on Bayon TV channel. The occasion was made colourful with fireworks, and traditional arts performances which were followed by speeches, video clips of the temple profiles. Reports also state that luxury hotels in Siem Reap region the likes of Anantara Angkor Resort along with many others, were fully occupied during the event since many tourists from other countries too visited the event.
