Organized by the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), the Geopark day 2017 is all set to take place on the 1st of June at the LADA Complex. Held annually, this year’s celebration marks the 10th anniversary of the World Heritage Geopark status given by UNESCO for Langkawi. Locals and tourists who have been and are planning on staying at one of the Langkawi resorts such as the Berjaya Langkawi Resort can take part in a host of events that have been scheduled across many locations in the region. Celebrations include cultural performances, exhibitions, fun contests and talks for participants to enjoy. Malaysia officially became a member of the national Geoparks following the recognition of Langkawi as one of the Geopark sites in the year 2007.
