The Yulan festival or the hungry ghost’s festival is a long tradition celebrated by the Chui chow community for centuries. Organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations; the festival this year was held from the 1st to 3rd September. Accommodation for visitors were available at the hotels in Wan Chai Hong Kong including city hotels such as Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong. The highlights of the event included the festival exhibition with thematic displays, thematic 3D photo shooting, and the vegetarian snack display which were held from 10am to 8pm on all three days. A ‘Hong Kong Blessings Ceremony’ was held on the 1st of September from 1pm to 3pm. The festivals competition for families was held on the of 2nd September from 1pm to 5.30 pm. The ‘festival treats competition’ was held on the 3rd of September from 1pm to 6pm.
