Chanaka Perera Wins the Latest LECTRA Grand Prix 2019

A Victory to Savour

At the recently concluded October edition of the LECTRA Grand Prix 2019, M.U. Chanaka Perera charged to the top, claiming a comfortable 12-stroke victory. The event was held at the prestigious Nuwara Eliya Golf Club; located within easy reach of Galway Heights, this 18-hole course is one of Asia’s oldest golf clubs and has also become a top attraction for those finding accommodation in Nuwara Eliya. The win by Chanaka Perera confirmed his position as a top Sri Lankan golfer and complemented his achievement of becoming the Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Champion 2019.

He completed the LECTRA Grand Prix 2019 October edition win by achieving a six-under-par final round which included seven birdies as well as an eagle on the 10th hole. The runner up position went to local golfer B. Vinoth Kumar, while third place was shared by J.M.D. Indika and N. Amarapadma.
