By September, travel time between Chennai and Tirupati is expected to reduce by up to 45 minutes, thanks to the nearing completion of the four-lane greenfield highway between Thiruninravur and Tiruvallur. Stretching 18 km, this section links the Tiruvallur Bypass at Thirupachur with the Veppampattu Bypass at Thiruninravur, allowing motorists to skip the heavily congested Tiruvallur town and the narrow two-lane Thiruninravur–Tiruvallur stretch.
With 15 km already finished, officials from the National Highways Authority of India confirm the road will soon be fully access-controlled, fenced, and supported by service lanes on both sides. Part of a Rs 304 crore project launched in 2022, the design also accommodates future six-lane expansion. Combined with the Rs 750 crore four-laning from Tiruvallur to the Tamil Nadu–Andhra border, the entire 62-km route promises smoother journeys. Travellers can expect easier connectivity for both pilgrimages and business trips, making nearby stays such as Turyaa Chennai stand out among the best hotels in Chennai.
