Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2016 – The Rose of the North blooms once again

As is customary each year, the three-day Chiang Mai Flower Festival took place over the weekend commencing the 5th of February. Hotels in Chiang Mai welcomed the influx of tourists who arrived in the city to witness the highlights of the festival that coincides with the peak season. While the three-day festival unfolded in and around the Buak Hard Public Park, nearby hotels such as Anantara Chiang Mai Resort offered a convenient base to catch the many highlights. During the festival, the public park transformed with vendor stalls and exhibitions, displaying the many varieties of flowers including Thai orchids, chrysanthemums and Damask roses. The Flower Festival Parade commenced on Saturday morning along Charoen Muang Road complete with marching bands and decorated floats. As a part of the festival tradition the Miss Chiang Mai Flower Festival was held and successfully concluded with the crowning of the Queen.
