Chinese-Built Infrastructure in Mozambique Boosts Local Tourism – Mozambique Tourism Booms

A clear boom in tourism has reportedly been witnessed in Maputo, a local district in Mozambique and the related income has also been significantly doubled according to the latest records. The authorities believe the main reason behind this progress could be the infrastructure – the cross-sea suspension bridge and the link roads, that were developed recently with the financial assistance of China. Many of the Mozambique hotels and resorts were also benefitted from this initiative and the local communities were also benefitted in many indirect ways.

In the first half of 2019, the number of tourists that had come to Mozambique accounts to 162,000 and the role played by resorts the likes of Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort to provide standard accommodation facilities to them has been admired by the tourism authorities with due respect. They also express that while South Africans usually pay a keen interest in coming to Mozambique for their holidays, the domestic travelers also have developed their interest in engaging in regular tours and travels more from recently.
