Chinese Lantern Festival

The Chinese Lantern Festival is a must –attend event if you’re in Beijing at a serviced apartment in Beijing like the renowned Somerset ZhongGuanCun Beijing, as it is a great way to experience the best of Chinese culture. The festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the first month of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, which falls on the 5th of March.

There are so many events and activities to take part on Chinese Lantern Festival. Head over to the Shang Yuan Lantern Party in Qianmen Street and take part in riddles and fun games. It’s also one of the best places to see the colorful Lion Dances.

Treat yourself to delicious Yuanxiao, a Chinese delicacy that is an essential part of the festival. It’s made from sticky rice and contains all sorts of fillings like sugar, sweetened bean paste, and even Rose petals! In Chinese tradition, on the night of the Lantern Festival, Yuanxiao is eaten together with family members while appreciating the full moon.
