Chinese Tourists Continue to Arrive in Thailand – Rapid Revival of Tourism after COVID

Thailand’s tourism industry is experiencing a remarkable resurgence, marked by a steady rise in the number of visitors each month. In fact, by March 2023, over 517,000 Chinese travellers had already made their way to Thailand, reflecting a significant surge compared to the same period last year. Notably, China remains the largest contributor to Thailand’s tourism sector, followed closely by Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, and India. The concerted efforts of various agencies to promote Thailand to Chinese tourists have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in attracting more visitors to the country. As a result of this thriving tourism sector, Thailand’s GDP is projected to grow between 2.7% and 3.7% compared to the previous year.

The recent developments in the tourism sector will largely benefit four industries: medical tourism, chained budget hotels, condominium market, and foreign direct investment and trade. Bangkok, Pattaya, Phi Phi Islands, and Ao Nang are some of the most popular cities to visit in Thailand. A highly sought-after accommodation in Ao Nang is Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort, one of the popular Ao Nang beach hotels frequently visited by tourists. This exquisite resort offers guests a prime location and exceptional experiences, making it a top choice for travellers exploring the captivating beauty of Ao Nang Beach.
