An event that brought together both novice and experienced sailing enthusiasts, the Royal Colombo Yacht Club (RCYC) Sailing Regatta provided a fun filled day for sailors and visitors alike. Hosted at Blu Trincomalee that is owned by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts which has a large portfolio of Sri Lanka hotels, this two day sailing regatta featured 35 boats in competition with each other under different categories. The 6th edition of the Royal Colombo Yacht Club Sailing Regatta saw 11 Laser Class boats competing with Dinouk Goonewardena from the British School in Colombo coming in first place for that category. There were 16 Optimists Class boats in competition and St Thomas College student, Kethaka Weerasuriya emerged winner in this category which is limited for those under 15 years of age. Dinouk Goonewardena was judged the overall winner of the regatta with two teams belonging to the Sri Lanka Navy coming in second and third.
