With a length measuring 60 feet, the Yule log unveiled by Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo laid claim to be Sri Lanka’s longest Yule log. Unveiled in December 2014, this delectable creation was one of the highlights of the season presented by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts who own and manage several premier Sri Lanka hotels.
The Yule log which weighed 100 kilos was made using an astonishing amount of ingredients including 6 kilos of coco powder, 30 kilos of icing sugar and flour and a total of 600 eggs. The finished product was unveiled on 20th December at the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo Lounge and the general public were given the chance to purchase either a slice for 190 Rupees or a larger Yule log section (750 grams) for 1,350 Rupees. Of note was the fact that this record-breaking Yule log was sold out within 3 hours of its unveiling to the public.
