Colombo International Book Fair – The Festival for Bookworms

According to the world famous author Neil Gaiman, “A book is a dream that you hold in your hands”. So go find your dream at the Colombo International Book Fair, Sri Lanka’s biggest and baddest book exhibition. This mega annual event takes place at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). This is located in a very tourist-friendly area almost opposite to the Arcade Independence Square and close to plenty of Colombo luxury hotels the likes of Jetwing Colombo Seven; so, you won’t have any difficulty of getting there. This year, the event will be held from the 18th to 27th of September.

There will be 166 local and about 40 international publishers convening at the fair which will include about 300 stalls. At the Colombo International Book Fair you’ll be able to buy a range of books from the latest literary masterpieces to educational books and even bargain books that can be bought at such a low price as 150 rupees (0.98 USD)!
